School of Medicine Prof. Myung-Joo Ahn, Selected as a 30^th Winner of Wunsch Medical Award 

The Korean Academy of Medical Sciences and Boehringer Ingelheim announced that they selected Professor Myung-Joo Ahn and Clinical Assistant Professor Chung-Geun Lee as 30th winner of Wunsch Medical Award on November 10 (Tue). Prof. Ahn was credited with actively conducting clinical research necessary for the development of new drugs such as lung cancer targeted therapies and immune-cancer drugs. While serving as a member of the cancer disease review committee of the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service for more than four years, she was highly praised for her contribution to improving the treatment of cancer patients in Korea by participating in new drug licensing and determining dosage.

The Wunsch Medical Award, jointly established by the Korean Medical Association and Boehringer Ingelheim, was named after the name of Dr. Richard Wunsch, the first Germany doctor and the doctor of King Gojong of Joseon Dynasty.

This prize will be awarded to those who have been engaged in medical or research for more than 20 years and are recognized for their efforts in the development of domestic medicine. The winner will receive 50 million won. The award ceremony will be held at JW Marriot Dongdaemun Hotel on November 26 (Thur).
