A research team led by Prof. Jieun Lee, Dept. of Health Sciences & Technology at Sungkyunkwan University, have made a breakthrough discovery in unraveling a specific role of ‘Primary Cilia’ in Angiogenesis. The research results suggest the centrosomal protein 41 (CEP41)-HIF1α-AURKA-VEGF axis as a key molecular mechanism of angiogenesis and demonstrate how important ciliary tubulin glutamylation is in mechanosense-responded endothelia cell (EC) dynamics.
