The 3rd Annual SAIHST Symposium

 

 

The 3rd Annual SAIHST symposium was held on Monday, 23 December 2019, at Hippocrates Hall 9F Irwon Station Building.

SAIHST holds the symposium every year to motivate students in conducting convergence research activities and having pride as a SAIHST student.

 

 

 

 

Prof. Jeong Hoon Kim (Dept. of Health Science and Technology), the Commissioner of a preparatory committee for the symposium, announced the opening of the event.

 

Prof. Hyo Geun Lim, Director of SAIHST, delivered an opening speech, addressing that the symposium is for all SAIHST students to recognize the true meaning of the convergence through communication and empathy in each research area.

 

Especially for the first time to students and faculty members, Director Lim announced SAIHST has recently received funding from the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the ‘Biomedical Global Leadership Training Project’. He also said that “He is pleased that the biomedical project is the cornerstone of SKKU’s Goal for ‘Student Success’ and ‘Internationalization’, especially when the 10th anniversary of SAIHST is coming.” And He encourages students to participate in the event to achieve a bigger goal actively.

 

Following Director Lim’s speech, Professor Jong Kwan Lee (Department of Philosophy) gave a special lecture on “The fate of future humanity and 4^th Industrial Revolution.”

 

 

 

The main session consists of oral and poster presentations. During the sessions, the participants gave a presentation on their research progress and achievements. They also got awarded for their performance. The awardees received the certificate of commendation and prize.

 

For oral presentation, eight presenters were selected after a document screening. The judging committee decided on the winners as below.

Twenty-one presenters were selected for poster presentation. All participants on-site voted to decide five awardees after their performance.

 At the end of the Symposium, Director Lim addressed that the symposium has been and continues to be a harmonious ground for enhancing research capacity and network of convergence research through an active academic exchange.
