■Research objective
Gene regulation is controlled very strictly and accurately at transcriptional or post-transcriptional levels. Abnormal expression of genes causes many human diseases including cancers. Our main goal is to identify the regulatory mechanisms of gene expression and to develop a diagnosis and treatment of the disease based on them. We have conducted research on the regulation of genes associated with cancer malignancies including metastasis and drug resistance at post-transcriptional level. RNA-binding proteins and non-coding RNAs are closely implicated in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Recently, our researches have focused on the gene regulation through the interaction between non-coding RNAs and the function of exosomal non-coding RNAs in human diseases. *Non-coding RNAs include microRNA, long non-coding RNA, antisense transcript, and circular RNA. ■Collaborators With clinical cancer researchers on cancer malignancies With neurologist on neurologic disorders With geneticist on rare diseases Research interests 1.
